In today’s society, Christians are persecuted for believing it’s the will of God for them to be financially wealthy. Many people believe that biblical prosperity only pertains to the spiritual aspects of life and Christians’ true riches are waiting for them in the sweet by-and-by, Heaven. We often hear that money is the root of all evil. And it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into Heaven. I’m sure many of you heard all of this before, right? So it may leave you wondering…. Does God want me wealthy?
The answer is simple, YES! God wants us wealthy to help finance His Vision and be a blessing to other people. After all, the only thing one poor man can do for another poor man is to feel sorry for him. God doesn’t want us feeling sorry for anyone! He wants us to be in a position to bless people financially when the Holy Spirit prompts us to do so.
God doesn’t want us living below our means. Jesus actually took on poverty for us to become rich!
So Christians have a blood-bought right to have wealth and not struggle in this life!
We see there are several places in the Bible, where God refers to wealth and riches for His children.
Money is not evil. However, the love of money is the root of all evil. Why? Because God wants us to have the right relationship with money. God wants us to have money not for money to have us. We trust God and run after Him, not money.
The other misnomer we hear is that rich people can’t go to Heaven.
In this passage of scripture, The Kingdom of God refers to a mindset and not a place. The Kingdom of God is God’s way of thinking and being right. Jesus is saying that it is impossible to receive the things of God if we trust more in money than in Him. Often times, people that obtain wealth outside of God’s system, are blind to their spiritual poverty because of their accomplishments. They tend to trust money more than God, which makes it difficult for them to receive.
Child of God it’s time to shift your thinking! God does not want you poor, He wants you abundantly wealthy! Your wealthy place starts in your thinking! Make up in your mind today, that it is the will of God for you to be wealthy and have abundance in Him.
Four Keys to lay hold of your abundance in God
